Africa’s Changing Consumer Landscape, 24th June 2015, IDC, Sandton

It is increasingly apparent that the “Africa Rising” narrative largely speaks to consumer spending across the continent. Previously fragmented markets are being integrated and supply chains across Africa are re-shaping the consumer sector. Almost half of Africa’s citizens are now living in cities where the bulk of consumer spending takes place. The latest UN forecasts predict that Africa’s population will reach 2.7 billion by 2050. Despite low commodity prices, the IMF forecasts robust growth for sub-Saharan Africa of 4.5% for this year - the combined forces of growth and urbanisation will continue to drive consumer spending in Africa’s economies. The performance of retailers, service providers and consumer industries will be determined by their ability to tap into and grow their businesses in Africa's emerging consumer market. What are the growth trends, challenges and most importantly the opportunities arising from the emerging African consumer economy?

Join us at the Africa’s Changing Consumer Landscape Forum along with leading business decision-makers and thought leaders to discuss Africa’s Changing Consumer Landscape on Wednesday the 24th June 2015 at the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), Sandton, Johannesburg.
